Amber’s journey began in her childhood, competing in local 4-H shows and fun matches. Growing up her father’s dedication to raising English Setters for quail hunting instilled in her a profound understanding of canine behavior and training. In 2007, Amber welcomed her first Cane Corso into her life and discovered the exhilarating world of Schutzhund (IGP) . This was the start of a journey that has defined her career and passion for the sport.
With over a decade of experience, Amber has honed her skills in various dog training disciplines. Her expertise extends beyond competitive training; she has worked with leading companies to train top-end therapy and support dogs, delivering these exceptional companions across the country from the bustling subways of New York City to serene homes in the heartland, Amber’s trained dogs make a positive impact wherever they go.
Amber’s dedication to excellence is evident in her personal achievements in IGP, where she competes successfully with her own dogs. This hands-on experience ensures that Ambers stays at the forefront of modern training techniques and methods.

I have a philosophy of balance—a balance of old techniques and new ones, and of passion and skill. I believe we are never done learning and attend workshops and seminars as often as possible.

With a passion for the Cane Corso breed and the sport of IGP , the name Cane (pronounced Kah-nay) Sportivo may seem a bit different for some. It is simply Italian for sport dog.
